Wonder Woman 2: Huge Plot Rumours Tease A Big Villain And Steve Trevor
1. Pedro Pascal Is The Real Villain (And A God)
Though Cheetah has been announced as the villain, the same Twitter user has suggested that Pedro Pascal is in fact playing an important role that could turn out to be the big villain of the piece. DanielRPK says he's"a God in disguise" just as Ares was in disguise in the first movie.
That might seem a little strange - the repetition that is - but it might be better to consider Ares' disguise as precedent. Now, it could be that Pascal is in fact Ares once more (if Trevor can return from the dead, so can he), or he could be the twin sons of Ares, Phobos and Deimos, who were behind the creation of Cheetah in DC's Rebirth retcon (by manipulating Veronica Cale to work for them).
Alternatively, he could be an amalgamation of a few villains. As Pascal has said he's a "slippery con man" and there's a pretty big hint in the 1984 title that could suggest which slippery character he's playing. He could be Maxwell Lord, who used Batman's secret Brother Eye survelliance system (developed to track his fellow JLA members covertly) to try and wipe out all metahumans on Earth.
The Brother Eye/Big Brother link is too compelling to ignore, and Pascal playing Lord as a front to his real Godly identity would fit (and would give his agenda to kill all metahumans a reason). Hell, even without the God-link there, him playing Lord and manipulating Cheetah to work for him (or as his weapon to kill the metahumans he finds) would be great.
