The Premier League is often said to be the toughest in the world. Since the League's formation at the start of the 1992–93 season, only 24 players have managed to score 100 or more goals and many more have come and gone after netting a quick flurry before being swallowed up by the difficulty of consistency. Some of the greatest strikers from different eras of world football, the likes of Andriy Shevchenko, Diego Forlan and Tomas Brolin, have earned big money moves to England and found the going tougher than expected before jetting off to different leagues all over the world and rebuilding their reputations. You need more than a few fancy flicks to cut it in the Premier League. Of course, if a player doesn't have the talent he will be found out immediately. But the names on this list also have the physical and mental toughness to perform week in and week out in the best league in the world. They say it takes time for foreign players to 'adapt' to the Premier League and it's with good reason. The pace and intensity of the English game is not replicated anywhere else in the world, even in the Champions League. Blackburn Rovers' Alan Shearer was the first man to reach 100 goals during the 1995/1996 season, the rest of this list followed suit over the next 18 years. (The following list is accurate as of December 27th, 2014);

10. Alan Shearer

Shearer is still statistically the best forward ever to play in the Premier Division despite retiring back in 2006.

His 260 goals for Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United far surpasses anything some of the world's best were able to come up with over in England and doesn't look like being beaten any time soon.
