2. ABZÛ
Not content with serenely gliding across sand dunes, exploring the remnants of forgotten civilizations and the icy peaks of the far-off mountain, the creators of the peaceful yet lonely Journey, it's successor shoots for a more thriving environment.
ABZÛ, meaning "to know the ocean", lives up to the reputation laid down by its predecessor. The player takes control of an diver as they explore a number of oceanic regions or varying depths. What can one minute feel peaceful can quickly become intense or even dangerous as we are guided by the ocean currents and orchestral music.
Whilst there are ruins to explore as with Journey, the environments are much more flush with life as sea creatures swim around you, often allowing you to swim alongside them so you can examine them in greater detail.
With a start to finish time of approximately three hours, most players find themselves lingering in areas far longer than required as they soak up the sights and sounds of the vast paradise beneath the waves.
