10 Bizarre Glitches That Actually Improved Video Games

url-4 Did you know that the Grand Theft Auto series started life as the result of a glitch? I'm serious. Back before Rockstar were called Rockstar, they set out to create "a fun, addictive and fast multi-player car racing and crashing game which used a novel graphics method." But when game testers got ahold of the demo, they encountered a glitch that had the police cars trying to ram them off the road with determined hatred. This, they said, was the best part of the experience, and Grand Theft Auto was born. Generally speaking, though, not all video game glitches end with billion dollar franchises - after months and months of energy drink-fueled programming binges, all it takes is for one tiny error to dig its way into the coding and wham - you've created a glitch. And if a video game eventually ships with a glitch still in its midst, it probably means it was too specific for video game testers to have discovered whilst they were getting paid to kill themselves over and over again... But there's where you come in. That's right: the video game obsessives who take pride in devouring a game until absolutely nothing is left of it. And in the process of said devouring, you're bound to find a ton of glitches along the way, many of which will only serve as annoying hindrances to your otherwise fun time. That's not always the case, though... Entertaining, endlessly helpful, enlightening and just plain wacky, here's 10 bizarre video game glitches that actually improved the games that they found themselves in - without them, we might not have enjoyed ourselves quite as much as we did.
