10 Bizarre Glitches That Actually Improved Video Games

10. "Shaun!" - Heavy Rain (2010)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t0uCWjQ6Og On the whole, Heavy Rain is a rather depressing slice of video game inventory, though it's a great and immersive game, and one that I would absolutely recommend whole-heartily because I like serial killers and games about doing things with serial killers. But whereas most of the glitches on this list have some kind of practical purpose, "Shaun!" does not. "Shaun" exists purely as a means of entertainment. Because it's hilarious. Well, it is if you're still willing to laugh at things that you might've found funny at fifteen, anyway. Without giving too much away regarding Heavy Rain's storyline, let's just say that at some point in the game you're positioned on your knees in the pouring rain, staring at a kid named Shaun. And it's a hugely dramatic moment, 'cause serial killers etc. and this kid is your son. Your character, therefore, shouts "Shaun!", because that's what happens when you're looking for a kid named Shaun. Oh, and you shout "Shaun!" by pressing a button. More often than not, things continue normally and you lose the ability to shout Shaun when it's not longer necessary. But sometimes the game glitches, and instead of losing your ability to shout Shaun, you gain it in abundance. Like, it becomes your trademark ability. And you can shout it whenever you want. As in, through one of the game's emotionally-draining, climatic cut scenes, there's you... shouting "Shaun!"... like an insane person. It's the most fun you can have whilst staring at a screen and pressing a button repetitively, and a welcomed break from all the David Fincher-like drab of Heavy Rain. Did it technically improve the game? No. Did I say this article was technically accurate? No.
