10 Brutally Hard Decisions Video Games Forced You To Make

9. Save The City, Your Family, Or Be Rich? - Fable II

Lionhead Studios

Quite possibly the worst 'would you rather?' question ever. The close of Fable II has you answering a question set by the all-powerful Theresa - one that can reverse all the ills of the world done by Lucien - or one that can make you the true monster of the adventure.

It's literally laid out in front of you with three cards, denoting that either all the people who have lost their lives at the hands of Lucien's Spire can be resurrected (sans zombie features, presumably), your family can come back alongside your beloved dog who's only just perished at this point in the story - OR, you can be rich beyond your wildest dreams.

Later DLC would actually take some of the weight out of these decisions as you could get your dog back a different way, and thinking outside the box for a moment highlights the fact that untold riches essentially breaks a ton of progression for the endgame - however, taken at face value, this is one hell of a meaningful choice that exists only in a sea of grey morality.
