10 Hardest Super Mario Levels Nintendo Ever Created

These badboys will lay waste to your 1UP counter.

Nintendo€™s Super Mario series has always had that feel-good factor, from its glorious 8-bit debut in 1985 to the simple DIY pleasures of last year€™s Wii U hit Super Mario Maker. Gaming€™s most famous platforming franchise has built its reputation on family-friendly values, bright visuals, chirpy theme tunes, and accessibility. In short, Mario€™s adventures are an absolute joy€ well, most of the time, at least. Every now and again, a level comes along that hates your guts - a lava-filled deathtrap, a mind-bending ghost house, or a scrolling pain-fest with more pitfalls than, um, Pitfall. These are the stages that stick in our minds, linger in gamers€™ worst nightmares, and make us wish we were given a Sega Master System all those Christmases ago. We€™ve been squashed, burned to a crisp, knocked out by turtle shells, and gunned down by Bullet Bills more times than we care to remember - but it was worth the punishment for the playground bragging rights that came bundled with your eventual victory. Everyone remembers those infamous Mario levels that fall on the wrong side of challenging, and these ten are even harder than those blocks that you can€™t break with your head.
