10 Hardest Super Mario Levels Nintendo Ever Created
10. World 8-3 (Super Mario Bros)
So, you spent most of your lives trying to navigate that jump the size of Springfield Gorge in level 8-1. Its plain sailing from then on, right? Wrong. The final world in the original Super Mario Bros just kept dishing out the pain. This peaks with the barbaric stage 8-3, a place where the screen is rarely anything less than a mess of Bullet Bills, Hammer Bros, and Koopa Troopers, with the occasional bottomless chasm thrown in to catch you off guard. It was those damn Hammer Bros that made this one so punishingly difficult. Their movement patterns were a nightmare, made all the more frustrating by the fact that they were now on solid ground, instead of twin layers of bricks you could run underneath. Mario fans still wake up screaming at the thought of plunging into the final pit on this level and having to restart without any power ups.
