10. Quiet Is Chico After A Sex Change

The Rumour: One of the most compelling new characters introduced in The Phantom Pain is Quiet, the mute sniper whose scantily-clad appearance ignited a mild controversy online. Still, one of the most bats*** insane rumours for the game posits that Quiet is, in fact, a grown-up Chico, who following his being forced to rape Paz in Ground Zeroes, decides to undergo a sex change in order to escape the trauma.
How Likely Is It? It's pretty out there, but there is some compelling "evidence" in its favour. Firstly, in response to the heavily-sexualised attire the character wears, Kojima has insisted that "once you recognize the secret reason for her exposure, you will feel ashamed of your words & deeds", implying there is some sort of Earth-shattering twist revolving around her character's appearance. Some have commented that Quiet's pert chest resembles breast implants rather than natural tissue, and of course, Chico and Quiet don't exactly have a dissimilar facial structure either. Also, Chico would be aged 23 at the time of The Phantom Pain, which lines up perfectly here. Kojima and co. have neither confirmed nor denied the theory in order to keep the fanbase talking, but you can bet that if we've guessed it already, he won't be too pleased.
