10 Insane Metal Gear Solid V Rumours That Just Might Be True

Rumours are half of the fun after all.

Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes Phantom Pain1Kojima ProductionsWe're still a long way off from the release of Hideo Kojima's ridiculously anticipated Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, with most educated guesses pointing towards a Q1 2015 bow, but when has a hefty wait ever stopped MGS fans from avidly speculating on where the next entry will be taking them? So far, we've played through the short-but-awesome Ground Zeroes, seen a number of lengthy trailers for the game, and most revealingly, repeatedly watched a 30-minute gameplay demo that was shown off two weeks ago, each giving us a greater glimpse at the gorgeous Fox engine and also giving us plenty to think about. One of the most entertaining aspects of the MGS series is its unpredictability: Kojima's certifiably insane approach to narrative is no doubt confusing to the uninitiated, but to core fans, it's a beautiful tapestry of intricately-connected, decade-spanning stories and eccentric characters. As such, the web has played host to MGS fans' wildest rumours about the upcoming game, be they informed by apparent "clues" hidden in trailers, or simply a crazy shot in the dark that just might be crazy enough to be true. Do you have any of your own theories about The Phantom Pain? Let us know in the comments!
