10 Most Underrated Video Games Of 2018

Let's spread some love.

The keyword for gaming in 2018? Interesting.

There have been both some very amazing games released, and some absolute stinkers, but more than that there have been a lot of games that have managed to fall by the wayside and not get the attention they deserve.

Considering how tight the competition has been this year, it's no surprise some would be pushed aside, but a lot of the games that people are forgetting about are actually some of the most interesting and enjoyable of the year.

Not every game needs to have realistic horse testicles.

This is especially disheartening as we see the continued rise of multiplayer games that are simply getting more attention than any of these titles.

Even if 2018 proved that single-player games are still relevant, we've still got a long way to go before these games get recognised.

These are the games that didn't have enough budget to get noticed, couldn't stand against the competition, or simply didn't deliver the groundbreaking experiences that some people wanted from them. There's nothing wrong with just being a good video game.

10. A Way Out

Considering what A Way Out managed to do, it's shocking that it's not getting the love it deserves.

That's not to say that the game didn't sell or review well, just that it seems to have been pretty quickly forgotten. That's pretty unusual for something so unique.

A Way Out relies on the premise that it can only be played with two players, and it's quite an effective one. You naturally build up a bond with one another and it makes the gameplay work in quite a surprising way.

Combine that with a surprising story, great set-pieces and a great energy and A Way Out is definitely worth playing.

If you've played the game, there are a few moments in particular that make the whole thing worth it. No spoilers.

Simply put, there's no game out there like A Way Out.

Although it's not the best game of 2018 by any means, it can definitely be considered as one of the most unique gaming experiences of the year, and maybe even of the generation.
