Despite seeing top titles over the last few years include Battle Royale modes, the news that the latest Modern Warfare will opt against throwing it into the main game suggests AAA titles are heading in the other direction.

Battle Royale's survival is reliant on games continually developing and pushing the envelope out to include such a mode, and if the top games on the agenda move away from its inclusion, it could well spell the end of the line.

While Fortnite and PUBG will no doubt continue to dominate the market, like most things in the modern world, there is a heavy chance of it dying out as people seek out the next big thing.

It's been the go to game mode for so many people over the last couple of years, that there has to be offerings from other games going forward in order to maintain the momentum.
