Obviously this caused ructions amongst both PS3 fans and gamers in general and the video was shared more than an STD; after all if it was to be believed, then 2010 gamers could expect an official PS4 announcement any day, right? You may laugh now, but at the time, wishful thinking worked its magic and many completely believed that the video was authentic. After it was shared, discussed, scrutinised and speculated on, Sony finally emerged to put a stop to the wild rumours of the PS4s unveiling. For that brief and shining moment though, the next gen was almost upon us. Eventually the creator of the video also stepped forward to admit what hed done (the little scamp). Basically, as both a gamer and a media student hed fabricated the whole thing as part of a class project to create a viral video. And with 5,231,392 views to date, I sincerely hope he got an A. Suffice to say, it was all smoke and mirrors, but hey, I fell for it, and I bet a good few of you did too.
