10 Video Game Villains That Were Total Rubbish

GLaDOS they ain't.

Every good video game hero needs a great villain to battle against, be it a dark lord, insane robot or unstoppable horde. Not only do these villains generally provide the climactic battles, but also the motivation to journey through these virtual worlds, collecting x of y and defeating endless streams of henchmen. Sometimes though, a developer seems totally unable to provide a satisfying villain to fight against, giving little reason to battle on. Not every game can feature a character of Sephiroth or GLaDOS' impact, but many of the examples seen here are just flat out lazy. A bad villain is often the product of a far greater issue with a game's narrative design, such as a nonsensical plot or overly convoluted story. The baddies might have seemingly no reason for doing what they're doing (beyond the fact that "they're evil"), or they could make decisions so ridiculously stupid that the hero never feels challenged. This list takes a look at the absolute worst video game villains, that were simply too laughable, weird or pointless to stand up as a main antagonist. Please note that a few of these entries may contain minor spoilers, as they're dealing with certain games' (disappointing) final moments.
