10 Video Games That Only Make Sense If You Bought The DLC

8. Assassin's Creed: Revelations - A Year-Old Betrayal Finally Explained

Over the first couple Assassin's Creed games, Lucy Stillman is framed as one of the few straight-up good guys of the series. Helping out Desmond in his effort to reach into the past and figure out the Templar's plot to abuse ancient powers, it's a genuine shock when the player is forced to kill her at the end of Brotherhood while being controlled by the god-like villain, Juno.

With strange markings that warned you that you couldn't trust anyone just preceding this, it's suggested that Lucy might have been hiding something from Desmond, but it wasn't until the DLC for the next game was released that players finally got answers to what that was.

Sadly, the devs went for the predictable twist that Lucy wasn't on your side at all, and at some point had actually defected to work with the Templars with the plan of screwing you over once her mission was complete.

Fans waited ages to figure out just what the hell the ending of Brotherhood was about, and when the reveal was that one of the game's best characters was actually a villain the whole time, they could only be disappointed.
