10 Worst Modern Video Game Universes To Live In

8. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare You may not have noticed due to the appeal of the multiplayer and the obscenely short campaigns, but the Call of Duty games actually have a story. And in the case of the Modern Warfare series, it€™s not a great one for the average Joe. Events in the first game led up to the outbreak of a Third World War in the second, which only intensified during the third instalment. I can be easy to forget this as the main character, shooting through countless waves of enemies, explosions and set-pieces, but throughout the Modern Warfare world, there are potentially millions of normal people dying from the conflict. The nuclear explosion in Modern Warfare 1 would have killed tens of thousands, the airport massacre in MW2 that triggered the war resulted in hundreds of people dying, and the Russian invasion of the US, with fighting breaking out in residential areas, along with the terrorist attacks in Paris and London in MW3, would have killed hundreds of thousands of innocent, normal people. So imagine being one of those normal people. Wherever you live, be it New York, Rio or Hamburg, you€™re probably going to be caught up in the fighting. And even if you manage to survive, your home, your city and your country is likely to be in ruins. And unlike in the multiplayer, you wouldn€™t respawn either.
