10 Worst Modern Video Game Universes To Live In

7. Saints Row

Saints Row: The Third While the first game was a fairly serious(ish) tale of street gangs battling over a city, Saints Row 2 and Saints Row: The Third used those themes as a base point and turned up the gameplay to crazy proportions. In the third game, you could dive headfirst through the windscreen of a car to steal it, suck pedestrians into a cannon and shoot them across the map and beat people to death in the street with a dildo bat. But what if you were one of those people? How would you feel having some gang-banger diving headfirst through your windscreen to steal your car? How would you feel if were you sucked into a cannon and then shot across the city? How would you feel if you were beaten to death in the street with a dildo bat by someone dressed as a rabbit? To make things worse, the level of violence aimed at normal people by the main characters is accepted and, amazingly, encouraged in the Saints Row universe. The Third Street Saints are a world-wide phenomenon and practically run the city of Stilwater (and later on Steelport). These criminals are seemingly allowed to do as they please, as the police force is ridiculously inefficient, and anyone who stands up to them gets taken out. So you, the normal civilian, just has to do what the Saints tell you and shut up about it. If they want your car, you have to let them take it. Either that or you just have to join the Saints and work for them as they tear up your city.
