Back in the days before multiplayer level design became complex and elaborate enough to warrant a university degree dedicated to the subject, online shooters focused way more on the silly, simple pleasures of gaming. The Longest Yard sums up that ethos perfectly. There is no cover on this symmetrical mish-mash of jump pads and platforms floating around in the void of space, so your ability to kill and not be killed depends entirely almost entirely on your reflexes and ability to shoot while sprinting and bouncing around the whole arena. It's the quintessential old-school shooter arena. For all its apparent simplicity, The Longest yard had great verticality, extending upwards as much as it did across, and skilled players could reach the special sniping platform with some skilful pad-jumping.
