2018 has been one hell of a wild ride for gamers: it's a year where Telltale Games went bust totally out of nowhere, Rockstar Games was outed for their torturous crunch culture, Sony held Fortnite accounts hostage, and Fallout 76 ended up one of the most embarrassing duds in recent AAA gaming history.
If these moments taught players anything, it's that you should always expect the unexpected, and no matter how foregone an outcome might seem, there's always room to have your jaw dropped.
And with that spirit in mind, here are some not-so-likely - yet certainly not impossible - predictions for the next 12 months in gaming.
