If you've ever played a Pokémon game, then no doubt you'll always hold a special place in your heart for the wonderful world in which the creatures inhabit. From choosing your first companion in one of the many remarkable regions to blowing a ton of cash on potions and ethers to keep your team fighting fit against the best of the best, there are a plethora of experiences you'll have shared with fellow Pokémon Trainers across the globe.

With six generations of games, nineteen television series' and myriad merchandise, there's a whole world of Pokémon goodness out there that you simply have to know about.

Even if you haven't sunk hundreds of hours into one of these games (and in that case, what the hell have you been doing with your life?!) there are all manner of in-jokes and life lessons that make Poké-fandom truly something special.

I mean, do you even know where you are or aren't allowed to ride your bicycle?

So, without further ado, let's dive into twenty things that only Pokémon fans will understand!

20. It's Tough To Know What A 'Dragon' Is These Days

One of the most popular groups over the generations of Pokémon games has always been the mythical Dragon types. These Pokémon have always been considered to be powerful, intimidating creatures and all are worthy of a spot on virtually any battler's team.

But while all such things are true, there has to be one other adjective added to the list to describe them: confusing.

Judging what a Dragon type Pokémon is, can be way more difficult than any movie or book description. While something like the almighty, lizard-like Charizard is not considered a Dragon, the insectoid Vibrava or the hermit Bagon both are.

It seems there's more than just appearance considered when a Dragon type is classified. However, just what that is, remains a mystery to me!
