15. Freekstyle
Remember EA BIG? The studio brought SSX to the world, but they weren't done after that, oh no. Whilst the snowboarding series would go on to be the escapist extreme sports experience, BIG turned their attentions to other professions like motocross, resulting in Freekstyle.
Literally being 'more of the same' on paper, when that equated to one of the finest developers executing on a formula we just couldn't get enough of, it was perfect. More over-the-top characters, more intricate courses and naturally, more ridiculously impossible tricks you could string together and trigger boosts to quickly zip into lightspeed to nab pole position.
2012's SSX tried and failed to reclaim this formula (proving it's not as easy as may seem), but the fact remains - when done right this style of gameplay is timeless, and Freekstyle in particular is a neat enough addition to an already solid concept.
