5 Reasons Why Bioshock Infinite Looks Awesome

4. Elizabeth

There have been plenty of female sidekicks in video games, however more often than not they fall into the all too common damsel in distress trope. I mean take Ashley Graham from Resident Evil 4, that€™s how not to do a sidekick she was whiny and irritating and by the end of the game I think most of us wanted to abandon her to the Las Plagas. While Elizabeth with her doe eyed, porcelain features may appear to fit into this category the recent trailers have revealed a darker, more dangerous side to her that is very intriguing. Also the relationship between Elizabeth and her protector/imprisoner Songbird looks very interesting and seems to mirror that of the Big Daddies and Little Sisters from Bioshock. As well as looking like an interesting character Elizabeth will also aid Booker in combat, for example she will throw him ammo and useful items and open tears in reality using her strange powers. But it€™s her interaction with Booker and the world outside of combat that has grabbed my attention the most. Anyone who has seen the recent IGN video on the AI behind Elizabeth will know what I mean. Elizabeth will interact with objects and people around her, for example she joins in with 2 men in a weight lifting competition or in a dance on the beach. It really makes you believe she is this naive, childlike character and makes her feel like a real person rather than just an NPC who follows you around. The AI behind Elizabeth looks ground breaking and I can€™t wait to see how she is going to interact with the characters and the world of Columbia.
