1. Patience Is A Virtue
If you asked someone who is relatively familiar with Nintendo and their games about "loading times", they would probably return a blank expression. This is because prior to the Wii U, no one has ever had to wait too long before they can jump right into a game or explore features on a Nintendo console. The quality that is usually pumped into the products by Nintendo makes everything feel smooth. You can get a real sense of care. Everythings been tested. Everything has been tailored for the gamer, no matter how long it takes. It came as a relative surprise then, when it took over an hour to update the system from the box. You might think, Well, the Xbox 360 and PS3 sometimes have long update times, its not that big a deal. However, this doesnt just relate to update; even performing somewhat simple tasks - accessing the Miiverse, checking notifications etc - sometimes take around a minute to load. This seems like a trivial complaint, but when it comes down to multiple long waits, often in one sitting, it can become rather tedious.
