6 Upcoming Star Wars Games That Fans Need To Know About

5. Star Wars: 1313

Announced at E3 2012, several months before the Disney acquisition of the franchise was made public, Star Wars 1313 would have been the most adult Star Wars game to date, with the developers even stating that they were going for an M rating from the ESRB. However, they said that for them, the M rating meant that they would have more freedom to explore mature thematic themes, rather than adding in copious amounts of violence, so Dead Space levels of gore were unlikely. The game would have been a cover shooter set on the titular level 1313 in Coruscant's underworld, but alas, after Disney got hold of Star Wars, they closed LucasArts, the company that handled most of the games in the series, killing 1313 in the process. As Disney also seem keen on making the Star Wars become more and more child friendly, the game would have had no place in their vision for the series. And the saddest part? It was leaked that the game's plot was being reworked to feature Boba Fett as the protagonist. The game that couldn't have been anymore awesome got even more awesome. Occasionally we hear rumblings of the project being resurrected, but nothing has yet been confirmed. These rumours refuse to die, with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy hinting that the assets from the game were considered to be as valuable as gold. So maybe we might see 1313 one day. EA now hold the license to make Star Wars console games, so it looks like it's in their hands.
