8 Things We Want To See From Lego Marvel Super Heroes

3. No Quicktime Events

Lego Star Wars 3 Screencap One of my few gripes with Lego Star Wars III was the inclusion of Quicktime events, a game mechanic where the player follows a series of onscreen prompts to complete a certain part of the level. Which is more or less akin to the game mechanic being €œPress this button to win€. A Quicktime event requires no skill or tactical thinking on the part of the player. You just have to press a button within a short space of time, or press that button rapidly enough. It€™s lazy and flies in the face of the spirit of the Lego games. Plus, taking down a supervillain or winning a wizards' duel has a much more rewarding feel to it if you succeed through your own intelligence and skill rather than by pressing the X button quickly enough.
