Batman: Arkham Knight - 9 Ways The Joker Could Still Show Up

Surely Rocksteady won't be giving up on the Dark Knight's greatest villain?

The shocking finale of Arkham City shook Batman fans to the core - had Rocksteady really killed the Joker off for good? It looks that way, yes. Despite the villain's prominent role within the series, the Joker will apparently not be appearing in Arkham Knight, Rocksteady's third and final Batman game. Don't cry just yet though, there's many ways the developer could still work the Clown Prince into Arkham Knight without having to revive or resurrect him, avoiding a bunch of implausible scenarios and questionable story decisions. In fact, some of these rumoured ideas are far more interesting than a full-blown return for the Joker - there's plenty of ways Rocksteady can pay tribute to Joker's legacy without cheapening the dramatic conclusion to Arkham City. In one way or another, the Joker will be referenced in Arkham Knight; the guy had a large, passionate fanbase, there's no way Rocksteady will end the series without paying tribute to one of its key characters. Having said that, some of the theories discussed in this article are bordering on insane - the Joker himself would struggle to take some of these seriously. If you have any other ideas about how Arkham Knight can feature the Joker without actually bringing him back to life, let us know in the comments below.
