DMC: 8 Things To Be Excited About

dmj DMC is the reboot of the famous Devil May Cry series created by Capcom and is being developed by Ninja Theory. Following the adventures of the half demon half angel, Dante, DMC explores a time in Dante€™s life we gamers have not seen thus far. With a reboot comes a new Dante, new look and a new story that so far looks to be heading in the right direction. Developer Ninja Theory has pushed the envelope by creating a €œnew€ Dante that gamers have not played before but have done so with a unique style while still keeping it familiar to Devil May Cry fans. Despite many gamers voicing their opinions against the new changes to Dante and the reboot of DMC, Ninja Theory has kept strong through it all. They have slowly been leaking new characters, bosses, environments and gameplay that has been winning over those who had second doubts about DMC. If you€™re among those still unsure whether or not to get the new DMC game keep reading. There are more than enough characters, levels, bosses and extras to keep you hooked. And for those who dislike the €œnew€ Dante, I hope I can change your mind as well. But, if your like me and love the new direction I hope you will enjoy this article as much as I do.

10. Dante

dmxc €œMy name is Dante the Demon Killer, has a nice ring to it don€™t you think?€ First off, I want to address the biggest and most drastic change to the franchise, the new, younger and more badass Dante. Those familiar to the series will remember Dante for his signature white hair and red coat. The red coat still remains to some degree but he no longer has his white hair which has been replaced with more of a €œpunk rock" style. When this was first announced many believed it to be the worst decision possible but Capcom stuck to their idea and it has slowly been growing on players. Along with his new hair Dante is also much younger than his previous incarnation. He seems to be a young adult where as in the other games he was a full fledged adult who doesn't have a care in the world. In DMC, Dante is more of a mystery because he who doesn€™t know his heritage nor does he know the full extent of his abilities. Dante has much more of a €œf&*k you€ attitude and a badass demeanor. It not only comes across when he curses out demons but also in the way he carries himself around. Growing up alone, living as an "orphan" he has no ties to the world that surrounds him or the people in it. The only thing knows is that he is constantly hunted by demons who want nothing more than to kill him. But, that all changes when he meets Kat and is reunited with his twin brother Vergil. His tough exterior slowly begins to show a more €œhuman€ side that Dante didn't believe he had. He begins to care for people and create bonds with both Kat and Vergil risking his life for them and taking on impossible tasks. The second biggest change to Dante€™s is his story: he is no longer a half human and half demon. He is now a Nephilim. Only he and his twin brother Vergil are known in existence. This opens up the possibility for a new story dynamic as well as new combos and weapons. Speaking of weapons, returning are his trusted twin pistols, ebony and ivory, and his famous sword Rebellion. Along the way Dante will gain more powers and weapons such as the angelic scythe and the demonic axe. More weapons have been added to Dante€™s arsenal but I don€™t want to give it all away. I will however relieve that Dante will gain his classic white hair while in his "Devil Trigger" mode. This changes his hair to white and his coat to a bright red color. Time freezes and it gives Dante the ability to hack and slash enemies with added power and ferocity. "Devil Trigger" is very useful when you are in a tight situation or up against a boss battle. Dante looks to be a fantastic character that is not just a punk kid with family issues but looks to be a much more developed character with more to him than just hacking and slashing demons. We gamers have not seen such a rich and emotional Dante yet and it looks as though we are in for a good treat come January 15th.

I am a huge movie fan and a person who loves all things video games. I believe a strong game should have equal parts story, graphics, gameplay and interesting characters for it to truly succeed. I can tell you all about my movie obsession or how many times I've been The Legend of Zelda. Either way, let me know what you think of my articles or if you just want to say whats up be my guest.
