Buckle up, we are in the eye of the storm when it comes to the Fall season of the video game release calendar.

Last month, things got hectic with new instalments from the Borderlands and Gears of War franchises, then next month we're finally getting a promising Star Wars game and Hideo Kojima's much-hyped Death Stranding... oh, and Shenmue 3.

Things are getting relentless.

So, how can this month compete? Well, it is more than holding its own; we're getting two major instalments from some of the biggest military franchises around, plus exciting new I.P's from beloved developers Night School Studio, Bithell Games and Obsidian Entertainment.

On top of that, a new annual wrestling instalment from 2K, several remasters of cult classics and a random flood of visual novels.

This all boils down to a completely jam-packed month. Everything from AAA heavy hitters to thoughtful indies, to continuations of lost classics... it's all happening.

With that said, let's sift through this treasure trove of video game goodness and separate the wheat from the chaff.

43. Zombieland: Double Tap - Road Trip

Call of duty modern warfare
Universal Orlando

Release Date: Oct 15th

Platforms: PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One

A good movie to video game tie is a rare beast. We've had a few to be sure, but you could count them on two hands.

This one for the upcoming Zombieland sequel doesn't look to be making a solid argument otherwise, as it is yet another zombie shooter that looks pretty basic; imagine Dead Nation without the tight gameplay or flavour, and you're not far off.
