FIFA 13: Gameplay Trailer Reveals New Arsenal Away Strip

New in-game trailer from EA Sports unveils 12/13 purple and black away shirt.

yesterday's news of the leak of Arsenal's purple and black striped away shirt for next season, EA Sports have teamed up with the Emirates club to officially unveil the strip in an exclusive FIFA 13 Gameplay trailer that shows the team playing in it. Here's the trailer as released by the behemoth sports game developer: http://youtu.be/I8vFLwJfQX4 Aside from setting a new precedent for linked licensing sales that some fans might turn their noses up at, the trailer shows off some of the typically slick gameplay (though fans will have to wait some time to get a real hands on feel when the playable demo arrives) and the gorgeous visuals, which EA Sports have spent a good deal of time developing since the release of FIFA 12 (much to the annoyance of PES Team Leader Jon Murphy). Likenesses have certainly had an uplift in quality, and so it seems has the fluidity of player movement - though it's hard to really get a sense of it when we're dealing with what amounts to clever promotional material for the Arsenal strip. The other thing that sticks out a mile is the realistic movement, and indeed look of the football itself, which has never looked so detailed, to the point of near photo-realism, in fact. So far, the new away shirt has split Arsenal fans, some of whom were impressed with the boldness of the design, and others who are hugely unimpressed for the same reasons, it seems. That pink 'keeper jersey is certainly a statement: one from the Jorge Campos school of putting off strikers, I'd suggest. Anyway, definitely a nice way to show off a new strip. And at least Arsenal deemed their new kit worthy of a prestigious official reveal, unlike Newcastle United, whose brand new home strip for the coming season was unveiled during a pre-season friendly game against European giants Chemitzer this evening.
