FIFA 18: Every Man Utd Player Ratings
An accurate reflection of the Red Devils' real-life dominance? You decide...
Manchester United are on fire at the moment.
Jose Mourinho's Red Devils currently share the Premier League's top spot with rivals Manchester City, having taken 13 points from a possible 15 so far. They've been brutally efficient in putting lesser opponents to the sword, and with September 9th's 2-2 draw against Stoke City their only blemish across their first five games, during which they've already scored 16 goals.
£75 million man Romelu Lukaku is doing the business up front, Nemanja Matic already looks like one of the signings of the season, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan is a player reborn. The real test will come when they face the league's biggest sides, but for now, Mourinho's team are justifying their lofty expectations by thrashing clubs they would've drawn with in 2016/17.
With goal-shy Southampton and Crystal Palace next on United's PL fixture list, there's no reason to believe their dominance won't continue throughout September, but how will their electric start be represented in FIFA 18?
Most of United's player ratings were revealed in last week's demo, but several more have since come to light. Here's how Jose's side look ahead of the September 29th release date...
6. Goalkeepers
David De Gea: 90
Sergio Romero: 80
Joel Pereira: 71
In a move that will surprise absolutely nobody, EA Sports have made David De Gea the highest rated goalkeeper in England for FIFA 18. With an overall rating of 90, and the potential to grow to 92, he's bettered only by Manuel Neuer (92) worldwide, with Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois (89) his closest Premier League rival (of the players that have been announced thus far).
The Spaniard is United's top rated player in FIFA 18, and an obvious choice at number one. Sergio Romero's overall rating of 80 should make him a capable back-up, while 20-year-old Joel Pereira comes in at 71, though his potential peaks at 84.
Goalkeeper was always going to be one of United's strongest positions. De Gea is rightly considered among the best in the world, and Romero, while occasionally erratic, is an excellent number two. Add Pereira's youth into the equation and there's a strong chance you won't need to alter the GK talent pool throughout career mode's first few seasons, unless Real Madrid deliver on their real-life interest and snatch De Gea away.
