GTA VI: 8 Hot New Rumours You Need To Know

Guess which major A-lister is being tapped for a leading role?

A few weeks back, an internet leak seemingly confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI was in development at Rockstar, and the fan hype-o-meter went thermonuclear.

Although the information has since been debunked as a red herring from the rivers of Liberty City, that hasn't stopped those GTA VI rumours from spreading and multiplying.

The source of the intel was motion capture actor and model Tim Neff's alleged CV, which appeared online listing GTA VI among his upcoming projects.

Although Neff himself has since poured cold water on the leak, insisting it wasn't his resume that was doing the rounds, Rockstar probably is working on GTA VI behind closed doors by now, or at least plotting it out.

The developer is putting the finishing touches on its wild western sequel Red Dead Redemption 2 ahead of a release in 2018, after which it will no doubt throw its full weight behind the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.

GTA VI has massive shoes to fill as the followup to the fastest-selling game in history, and the latest addition to one of the biggest franchises around.

Those drip-fed GTA Online updates won't keep the fanbase satisfied indefinitely, but these red-hot rumours should make the long wait for the next sequel bearable.

8. A London-Set GTA VI Could Look Like This

The most heated GTA VI debate surrounds not whether the game exists, but where it will be set. Some are convinced it will mark a return to Vice City, while others have claimed it will be the first 3D instalment to explore London's criminal underbelly.

GTA last took players to the Big Smoke in 1999's Grand Theft Auto: London 1969 for the original PlayStation and PC, and fans have just been given a hint of how a modern GTA might look against this backdrop.

Modder KieranMerrilees has recreated London landmarks Wembley Stadium, Heathrow Airport and Great Ormond Street using the Grand Theft Auto V editor, revealing how the UK capital could look rendered in the latest Rockstar graphics.

The modders behind the images have also crafted London ambulances, Met Police vehicles and UK vehicle licence plates using the editing tools, and are planning on creating a full Blighty-based map for GTA V in the future.

Rockstar, of course, hasn't confirmed whether GTA VI or one of its expansion packs will be set in London, but it won't look dissimilar to this if that ends up being the case.
