Mass Effect 4: 10 Characters Who Must Return

There's no way at least one of these doesn't make a cameo.

It's rare that you come out the back end of a 60-plus hour experience filled with love, adoration and genuine glee (for the vast majority) feeling almost completely empty. Not to go on about the horrific ending to ME3, it must be said that it really was a spanner of Titanic-proportions, lodging itself into the hearts of many a devoted fan and forevermore scuppering their view when looking back on what should be one of the most fondly revered series' since Zelda. So it is though, that you just have to push past that notion of the endgame crippling everything else you loved, and look to what worked flawlessly in Mass Effect; the characters. It's something that Bioware more than acknowledged in the Citadel DLC, their downloadable 'apology-pack' that let you literally just hang around with any and everyone you loved from before, replete with new dialogue, some great in-jokes and a genuine feeling that the developers were on their knees, screaming to the heavens for forgiveness, realising where they'd gone so wrong. Well, it worked. ME3's ending isn't going anywhere, but Mass Effect in general is. As 2015 kicks into gear and the games industry finds its footing all over again thanks to one of the weirdest years' in decades, titles like Bioware's sci-fi epic are exactly what's needed to restore faith worldwide. And the first step to building hype for a new release? Handpicking the best characters who still have a few jumpers worth of tantalising plot threads in need of clearing up.
