Mass Effect: Andromeda - 10 Big Questions We're Asking After E3

Would you care if the original trilogy's events didn't matter?

It came, it saw, it kicked some armoured-up derrière, but the new Mass Effect would definitely have benefitted from some more screen time at E3. Instead, Bioware threw out a majority CG trailer to open EA's press conference, hinting at a great many in-game things along the way, showing a couple - but mostly keeping their cards close to their chest. They've mentioned at pressers in the past that the next instalment in such a weighty and iconic franchise is going to take a lot of time to put together, so even one year on from the initial announcement it's very possible there's no such thing as a fully working build. Plus that name, Andromeda. It marks the first time Bioware have moved outside the main series' canon to deliver a different instalment whilst retaining the phenomenal lore of the universe. In all honestly it's probably for the better, as far too many people were burned by the close of ME 3, and focussing on the positives - the alien races, relationship systems, squad interactions and combat - is definitely the best way to go. Right now very little is known outside of a hefty leak that broke a couple of months ago - something that E3 would've been the perfect place to address. Instead, it's over to the fans to poke and prod at what's on offer; the results hopefully getting somewhere close to the final product.
