Mortal Kombat: Ranking All 7 Female Ninjas From Worst To Best

6. Skarlet

Mortal Kombat
NetherRealm

This crimson-clad combatant was long rumoured to be a secret character in Mortal Kombat II due to fan speculation that a coding glitch could turn Kitana red.

Making her real debut in Mortal Kombat (2011) as a DLC character, Skarlet is presented as a creation of Shao Kahn. She's composed out of blood and can absorb more of it to gain strength. Silent but deadly, her blood-based attacks and use of tanto and kunai make her a formidable opponent.

Notable of these is her projectile-based Blood Ball attack, which is possibly the most powerful move that a playable character in the game could have. Also, her “Make It Rain” Fatality is memorable for being gruesome (seriously, it's not for the weak of stomach).

Nonetheless, Skarlet adds nothing to the plot, seen only in background shots throughout Story Mode and chained up in Kahn's Area. Her combos are highly damaging but hard to activate, and her X-Ray move is the least damaging in the game.

Skarlet's given a larger role (and dialogue!) in the Mortal Kombat X comic book series, but judging from her treatment at the hands of Mileena, it's as if her existence was entirely wasted.
