3. It Can Only Be Played Once

First and foremost, be warned that you'll only be able to play The Prelude once. That's right, 2K aren't letting fans create multiple versions of A.I or choose different dialogue and actions before they launch into the full MyCareer in 2K19.

This side of things is slightly disappointing.

2K obviously believe it's better to have players live and die by their snap decisions; it would have been nice to get the chance to interact more with the excellent world they've crafted or relive scenes that show the main character's awkward bedding in period as he adjusts to life in China. Only seeing those once feels like a missed opportunity.

Further, you'll have to relish the three matches you do get to play, because they're not accessible afterwards. 2K could easily have included the option to replay against the Jets, Rams and the NBA All-Star team as one-off exhibitions from the main menu. It's baffling they didn't.
