14. Super Lucky's Tale

Forza Horizon 4
Playful

As a throwback to the golden age of 3D platformers, Super Lucky's Tale ticks all of the boxes that Banjo, Crash, Mario and Croc managed many moons ago, and that's the problem.

Modern revolutionaries like Super Mario Odyssey and Fez have pushed the envelope of expectations for the once-modest platformer, so much so that Playful Corp's sequel looks to have time-travelled from antiquity by comparison.

From start to finish, Lucky's adventure amounts to an afternoon of solid entertainment, but it's a vapid one with a narrow appeal that Microsoft should never have primed as a launch exclusive to promote the One X.
