2. Venom

As well as being Spider-Man's most iconic villain, Venom is perhaps his biggest threat. Including him may seem overdone, but it's sure to provide lots of thrilling encounters.

Although Venom has featured in pretty much all of Spider-Man's video game outings so far, there's a good reason for it. He provides the perfect mirror to the web-slinger, countering his Spider Senses and trumping him in terms of power and speed. He's easily his most dangerous foe and represents everything that Spider-Man himself could become - a powerful theme in the mythos of the comics.

Besides Venom's amazing powers, he also has one of the best emotional connections to Peter Parker. Whether it be through Eddie Brock or the Symbiote itself, Venom has a dark connection with Peter that makes the battle between the two even more intense. Including Venom would also hint at the possibility of the Symbiote Suit also making an appearance.

Simply put, Venom is one of the best Spider-Man villains of all time, and he absolutely deserves to make an appearance.
