7. Matchmaking Is A Mess

Here's a pretty basic aspect of the multiplayer that makes a massive difference in the grand scheme of things: the matchmaking is not good at all. For one, there's no player shuffle after matches, so if you stick with one server, you'll either constantly be on the winning or losing side. This is of course immensely frustrating if you're on a side getting permanently dominated, so it would make sense to change things up after every round, while of course keeping players in parties together. Secondly, you're also incredibly likely to be thrown into a game in-progress on the losing side, because the game can't distinguish between a server that's still filling up and one that's been abandoned by rage-quitters. There's not much in this game more annoying than being excited for Walker Assault, only to enter and find that you've pretty much lost already. The Call of Duty series has for the most part made an art of good matchmaking, so it's disappointing to see Battlefront feeling more than a little behind the times with its matchmaking infrastructure.
