One of the biggest surprises at E3 2018 came at EA’s press conference, where the publisher casually confirmed the title for Respawn's new Star Wars game was "Jedi: Fallen Order". Made by the same team behind Titanfall, who also created Call of Duty, it's due Holiday 2019.
Respawn founder Vince Zampella didn’t have any of the game to show, not even a logo, but he did reveal the game takes place during “the Dark Times” - as Obi-Wan Kenobi once described them - between Episodes III and IV. Players will take on the role of a Jedi who survived Order 66, and is trying to escape the notice of the new Empire.
This time period was previously untapped by Star Wars canon until Disney took over, and now it boasts both Story movies (Rogue One and Solo), the new Darth Vader comic and the excellent (and recently concluded) Star Wars Rebels series.
Consequently, there's a wealth of characters for Respawn to choose from when telling their new Star Wars story. There are a number of predictable favourites who just have to be in there, but others might be a little less obvious - and will just make the game better.
