Did The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild really deserve to win the Game Of The Year award?
A lot of people would argue yes, yes it did, and there is certainly merit to that argument. Breath of the Wild is one of the most beautiful, expansive adventures to come out of Nintendo in the past ten years and it certainly deserves every bit of praise that it gets.
However, that doesn't mean that it's the best Nintendo game of the year. That award should rightfully go to Super Mario Odyssey, the latest adventure for the mustachioed plumber. This is the game that Mario fans have been clamouring for ever since Super Mario 64. It truly feels like a return to form for Mario, despite him never actually losing his lustre.
Besides being a fantastic game in its own right, there are some aspects of Super Mario Odyssey that are just outright better than Breath of the Wild. Although both are absolutely fantastic, Super Mario Odyssey just captured (no pun intended) me more. Here are the ten ways Super Mario Odyssey beats Breath of the Wild.
