With the roster for WWE 13 having being revealed on Saturday, there were a number of noticeable omissions, particularly in the Attitude Era Tag Team Department.
WWE ’13, THQ’s latest entry in the brawling franchise, boasts an unrivaled 87 playable characters – the largest roster of any wrestling game released to date. But alas, we’re still not quite happy.
The Attitude Era was a magical period for tag teams in the WWF. Few can forget the three way TLC matches between the Hardy Boyz, Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian, or all the gimmicks and quirks that came with them, such as Scotty 2 Hotty’s ridiculous but loveable “Worm” finishing maneuver, Crash Holly’s weighing scales or Kai-en-Tai’s “Indeed!” catchphrase.
Here, What Culture brings to you 10 of the most memorable Attitude Era tag teams who we’d like to see as DLC…
10. The Dudley Boyz
Sadly despite WWE owning the rights to the names of The Dudley Boyz, they were unable to include Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley in the Attitude Era roster due to the performer’s themselves being currently signed to rivals TNA.
Famed for their camouflage ring attire, their 3D finishing move and the quote “Get The Tables!”, The Dudley Boyz entertained fans in the WWE between 1999 and 2005. They were involved in some of the best hardcore tag matches in memory – especially TLC matches – and most will remember them for their legendary tag-team feuds with the Hardy Boyz and Edge and Christian.
After leaving the WWE, the former ECW superstars then went to TNA until 2010, where they disbanded as a tag team in favour of singles competition.
Sadly, unless a last minute deal is struck between TNA and WWE (which it won’t be), you will need to create The Dudley Boyz to include them.

I agree the roster isn’t great missing too many people who made the attitude era a success, hope thq do not make anymore wwe games, too many duplicates wth.
I know it won’t ever be possible but it just never will never be right without Owen Hart in the game. But since you were mentioning tag-teams what about the Headbangers,
The Mean Street Posse? Yes! Yes! Yes!
No Lo Down or X-Factor though? I kid..
I really wanted to include Lo Down but couldn’t make room for them. They were an awesome tag team though!
it sucks that THQ as well as WWE have all these screw-ups going with former WWE Superstars and Divas. For instance: Divas who made the Attitude Era what it was were Divas like: Jacqueline, Ivory, Debra, The Kat, Terri Runnels, Tori, Sable, Linda McMahon (being as all of these Divas were included in WWF No Mercy including Linda McMahon) as well as other former WWE Superstars like: D-Lo Brown, Viscera, Mideon, Jeff Jarret, Thrasher, Mosh, Essa Rios (wrestled in 1999 on “WWF Metal”), Tazz (wrestled in 2000-2001), The Blue Meanie, and Meat (who was in WWF WrestleMania 2000). Would be nice to see all the above mentioned tag teams as well as the superstars and divas I just named. THAT would be the ultimate game. As a side note to that, THQ and the WWE should REALLY consider making an entire game just for the Attitude Era since there was a game created just for the legends of the WrestleMania era.
They have some of the Nation of Domination, but not DLo Brown (who works as an agent for TNA I believe). They have Billy Gunn, but not Chuck Palumbo (Billy & Chuck).
William Regal & Tajiri and Regal & Lance Storm were Tag champs. La Resistance is also missing.
