GHOSTBUSTERS 3 speculation deepens

GHOSTBUSTERS, just about the last of the big fan favourite franchises from the 80's that as yet, has not seen a remake/sequel/imagining put into official development in the 21st century. Is that all about to change....

This flyer was spotted by the good folks at /Film at WonderCon in San Fransisco. If you can't quite read the text, it says €œsomething exciting is coming to the neighborhood!€ €œLook for the big announcement at Comic Con San Diego 2008€. Big announcement? Is it the animated movie we already heard small rumblings about last February? Or what about the video game that the whole original crew have committed to, which would use the original script idea for a proposed GHOSTBUSTERS III - which we heard about in November. That one is less likely as if you look close the flyer is from Sony Home Entertainment (who aren't involved in the video game) and of course everyone knows all about that already so it can't be a big announcement. They've already gone the whole nine yards with press images, etc - there shouldn't be anyone on the planet who doesn't know about this yet. Or could it be something as mundane as GHOSTBUSTERS on Blu-Ray? That would explain why the DVD artwork has been used for the poster. Whatever the truth, it does seem like this flyer was put together quite quickly at the last minute - and that could mean anything!
