HITMAN too violent?

Xavier Gens cut of the film is reported to have been yanked away from him because of the violence!

Remember a few weeks ago when the producers of Sweeney Todd were getting worried over how violent and bloody Tim Burton was making his film? Yes you read that right... a movie about a hairdresser who slits the throats of his customers and stuffs them into meat pies! What the hell were they expecting? Well it seems a studio is at it again. Unconfirmed reports from Twitch today claim that Hitman has ran into the same problems, and the movie's French director Xavier Gens has been yanked off the project because his cut of the film was too violent for the Fox's liking. Yes, that's a movie about a Hitman... who kills people for a living. The adaptation of the video game where you can kill ANYONE in the game in any devilishly way you can think of. What makes this even more insane is that Xavier Gens last film Frontiere(s), was extremely violent and bloody... second only to a film from someone like Eli Roth or Rob Zombie. Did the studio not think this might be the case before they went ahead with the film? Twitch have heard that Nicoles De Toth has come on board to edit the film, and apparently cut out the amount of head-shots and killings, etc. He did a similar job on Live Free or Die Hard this year, which totally ruined any sort of coherence for that movie. Ironically, Die Hard also starred Timothy Olyphant and quite honestly... I could go without seeing either of those work in Hollywood again after the work they have given us this year. Hitman originally was suppose to be out this month but post-production problems (we now know why) pushed the film back till the back end of November, where they hope a PG-13 cut will save it... because the smart audience is staying away from this one.
