Personally, I think
Castlevania has tons of potential even if it is based on a video game. I know I'm bias because I do like my Dracula movies, but a story that focus on the early years of the vampire and his days as the Romanian prince Vlad the Impaler is rarely focused on. And well, I like my Dracula movies.

Paul W.S. Anderson was to write and direct the movie adaptation of Castlevania for Rogue Pictures, with a huge budget of $50 million assigned. Well thank God someone has come to their senses as Anderson is now booted off Castlevania. He is now said to be working on
Death Race 300 which will either be a remake/sequel/prequel of the
Sly Stallone/
David Carradine cult classic
