10 Best Metal Albums Of The 1990s - Ranked

8. White Zombie – Astro-Creep 2000

Before Rob Zombie became an outspoken, movie-directing, household name as a solo artist, he fronted White Zombie, the seminal industrial metal act of the 1990s.

It was with this album, Astro-Creep 2000 that they reached their height of commercial success, hitting #6 in the Billboard 200, and going double platinum in the process. This is perhaps due to the emphasis on the heavier elements of the band’s signature sound, which had been a much lesser factor in their earlier releases.

The album did hold the same groove metal elements that contributed to the band’s fame, but the industrial guitar riffs and psychedelic mixing provided the edge needed to take the band one step further.

Astro-Creep is also home to the band’s most prominent hit, More Human Than Human, which was a very successful single in it’s own right, having been included in the Jim Carrey movie The Cable Guy, in 1996.
