10 Cheesiest Glam Metal Songs Ever Written

9. KISS - Crazy Crazy Nights

It's easy to mistake KISS for a Glam Metal act as the iconic Hard Rockers have been wearing face paint, breathing fire, and sporting platform boots for over 40 years, but it wasn’t until the band started playing without the makeup that they truly slipped fully into the sub-genre.

It is with their 1987 release Crazy Nights that this transition reached its peak, spouting some truly abysmal songs like Bang Bang You and No, No, No; the cringe factor peaked with the albums title track, Crazy Crazy Nights.

The song tries to come across as an inspirational anthem, telling those who like loud rock music not to be ashamed of their taste, but the whole thing just comes across as generic and pandering. While the song does have a certain radio-friendly nature, this only adds to the blatant cheesiness of the whole thing.

When listening, you just get the feeling that it's exactly what Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley wanted, and that was to write a generic, radio friendly song, and then just wait for those royalty cheques to start rolling in. If you look closely, you can actually see the dollar signs in their eyes.

Ironically, it all just turned out to be an embarrassment, resulting in the critical panning of both the song itself, and the album it fronted. KISS remained un-phased by this, though, as the album was a huge financial success, which is largely all that matters.
