10 Greatest Animated Music Videos Of All Time
2. A-ha – Take On Me

No list of the greatest animated music videos of all time would be complete without the inclusion of A-ha's 1984 song Take On Me, which was taken from the album Hunting High And Low. The video for Take On Me is probably the most iconic animated music video of all time, and absolutely one of the best, despite it being over three decades old.
The video is extremely well known for the scene at the beginning in which a real life actress is pulled into the pages of what appears to be a pencil-sketch comic book by a hero played by Morten Harket. There, she experiences a surreal adventure involving two rival racers and Harket's character attempting to break free into the real world.
Such a memorable video, however, didn't come without some serious work. It was made using a combination of pencil-sketch animation and rotoscoping. The rotoscoping itself took around sixteen weeks to finish animating, as over three-thousand frames were individually drawn.
