10 Less Appreciated Green Day Songs

9. Governator

Continuing with the political dissent theme, "Governator" is another B Side from the American Idiot era. With bassist Mike Dirnt on vocals, the California residents penned a song in retaliation to the prospect of Arnold Schwarzenegger becoming the state governer. Lyrics like "he's on your side, he's going to throw you aside," implied the band weren't exactly believing all of Arnold's promises. "It makes great television watching the world end," might be a bit over the top, but pointed perhaps to the fact that he was voted in on popularity or as a novelty, but his election would have real world reprecussions. It was used as a B side for the American Idiot single.
