10 Most Underrated Britpop Albums

8. Shed Seven – Change Giver

Another group from the Britpop period that never really broke through in a big way like Blur and Oasis were the York-based four-piece Shed Seven. And on their debut record Change Giver, the group broke the Top 20 in the UK Albums Chart, but precipitously dropped after just two weeks in the chart.

It’s unfortunate that they were up against such heavyweights because Change Giver is actually a very fine debut album. It maybe doesn’t have the huge anthems that the aforementioned acts do, but the record is still a very solid one in Britpop’s storied history.

Album highlights like “Long Time Dead,” “Casino Girl,” and “Stars In Your Eyes” are fantastic representations of the cultural movement – certainly tracks that you shouldn’t skip past if you’ve got even the faintest interest in Britpop.
