15 Best Pearl Jam Tracks

A favourite of Pearl Jam fans, I Got Id is a tale of unrequited love, as Vedder howls "I walk the lie when you held me in the night". Released in 1995, as part of the Merkin Ball EP, the song would peak at number 7 on the Billboard charts. The song was initally entitled 'I Got Shit', but for some unknown reason, Epic weren't happy with the title.

Starting off slow and quiet, it eventually turns into a Pearl Jam ballad, with Neil Young playing lead guitar, capturing his frantic soloing nature and gifting it to Vedder's longing, heartbroken vocals. It bridges the gap between Pearl Jam's grunge days on Vs and Ten and looks forward to the more experimental No Code,while  keeping the classic PJ sound.
